The peace of the afternoon gradually disappeared when a faint cry for help echoed from underground, like a plea for help. That’s when the rescue team and I didn’t hesitate and immediately set out to find the source of that cry.
The cry for help became clearer, a cold breath passed through the air, like a last cry for help from an innocent creature in danger.
As we got closer, the image of the dog appeared in the darkness, deep under the soil, his skin covered with wounds and his appearance weakened. Weak and hopeful eyes looked at us, like a last plea before life disappeared.
We saw multiple puncture wounds on his neck and carried him extra carefully in case of spine damage or internal bleeding.
ut as soon as we reached the treatment table, his eyes opened! Perhaps being handled was giving him the trust or confidence not to give up.
After cleaning, bandaging, and stabilizing him with a drip, we placed him in a quiet kennel where he could rest until he was strong enough for a roommate.
He ate like a trooper, slept quietly, and by the time we introduced him to his new friend, we knew he was feeling better because he made it crystal clear that the toy we’d given him was too fun to share.
Joy and gratitude spread among the rescue team. This success is not only personal but also a spirit of solidarity and sacrifice.
Even though there was only a 1% chance left, our determination and determination helped us overcome all difficulties, bringing hope and life to an innocent creature.
This rescue isn’t just about saving a living being, it’s also about being human, being part of a community, and doing the best for the world around us.
